Molecularly imprinted polymer in the form of a layer to mark tyramine , a method for the preparation of such a polymer and its use in a chemosensor for the selective electrochemical detection and / or marking analytes, in particular tyramine

The present invention comprises a new molecularly imprinted polymer film for selective tyramine determination, its fabrication and its application in chemosensor for selective detection and/or determination of analites, especially tyramine.

Advantages / Innovative aspects

  • High analytical and functional parameters of the chemosensor, i.e., a determination of tyramine in micromolar concentration range and a high selectivity with respect to interfering substances.
  • Elaboration of self-reporting polymer that enables performing determinations without addition of redox probe to examined samples.

Use

Chemosensor for selective tyramine determination can be applied in food quality control protocols. Moreover, patients threated with MAO inhibitors and anti-depressive drugs should avoid tyramine uptake. It may cause harmful malignant hypertension. It is so called “cheese effect”.
