Lab visit to the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale De Lausanne (EPFL)

2021-05-20

Rashmi Runjhun, NaMeS PhD student, visited the Laboratory Of Photonics and Interfaces at EPFL Switzerland. The aim of this visit was to finish some experiments for an ongoing project at the EPFL on device fabrication of perovskite solar cells with ZnO quantum dots as electron transporting layer. Using ZnO quantum dots, high efficiency perovskite solar cells have been fabricated with efficiencies reaching over 20%. During this time, thin films of perovskite and ZnO were deposited for various characterizations such as cross sectional SEM images of the layers, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and time resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. All the data was collected and analyzed in order to understand the mechanism of charge generation and transfer inside the solar cells. The manuscript based on this work is under preparation, and it will be submitted soon.
