NANOP 2017

2017-10-20

Wassie Mersha Takele, NaMeS PhD student, participated in the Nanophotonics and micro/Nano Optics 2nd International Conference NANOP 2017. The conference was held in Barcelona, Spain at Pompeu Fabra. NANOP 2017 conference was focused on the transversal nature of nanophotonics, offering an international forum on the latest advances in the field from basic to applied research. The conference covered many topics such as photonic & plasmonic nanomaterials, optical properties of nanostructures, strong light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, enhanced spectroscopy & sensing and nanomedicine, among others.

NANOP 2017 conference gathered high-profile nanophotonics and nano-optics experts to deliver plenary speeches. Wassie Mersha attended all of the oral sessions related to light-matter strong coupling and enhanced spectroscopy and sensing. He presented a poster entilted “Optical properties of porphycenes in the regime of strong light-matter coupling”. During the poster session Wassie Mersha discussed his results with many researchers working in the field of strong light-matter coupling. Through this interaction, he got many constructive comments which will be helpful for his future research.
