32nd Marian Smoluchowski Symposium on Statistical Physics

2019-12-03

Gabriel Rochinha Morgado and his supervisors,  Dr hab. Annie Lemarchand and Bogdan Nowakowski attended the 32nd Marian Smoluchowski Symposium on Statistical Physics that covered a broad spectrum of subjects, from first-passage problems to complex networks, through  quantum thermodynamics and soft matter physics. Gabriel gave a talk on his work about "Cross-diffusion in concentrated reactive systems revealed by perturbation of FKPP wave front". Annie Lemarchand chaired one of the morning sessions 19th October and also presented the talk „Competition between cancer and immune system cells in an inhomogeneous system: A thermostatted kinetic theory approach”. The attendance in the Symposium gave they the opportunity to expose the research perform in the project and to discuss with many estimated scientists in the domain of dynamics of nonequilibrium systems.  In the future, the researchers from this community can play a role of referee of their studies, in particular in reviewing the thesis of the PHD student.
